Tile on Tile

Back in August 2011, Laura invited Margaret Bremner, the Enthusiastic Artist, to set this challenge.

The idea is to leave a generous border when plotting your four corner points, so as to create a tile within a tile.

Here's my string:

And here's my tile:

Tile on Tile
Tangles: Cadent; Shattuck; Warble
Bales; Purk; Florz; Fescu

Up Close

I had to break out my 005 Micron to help get the needed detail on the little tile.

Zendala Dare 31

So this is the template for Erin's Zendala Dare this week:

Dare 31

I love geometrical patterns and the Maths teacher part of my brain finds it particularly pleasing :D

And here's my Zendala:

Black & White
Tangles: Jonqal; Socc; Hi-Cs; Gloven; Tripoli; Fescu

With added Blue

I had fun with this one, and put my 005 Micron to good use with the Gloven.
Can't wait for the next one!

Initialise

Another guest challenge in the String Theory series, Initialise was set by Christina Vandervlist from stART, back in July 2011.

The challenge is to use your initials as the string - simple! And challenging...

So here is my string:

CW

And here is the final piece:

Initialise
Tangles: Reticulated, Unyun, Coaster, Fescu

I like the idea of using initials as the basis of a Zentangle... I think it's a lovely idea for Zentangle gifts.

A Little Help from my Friends

So in this challenge set back in May 2011 by Laura, the idea was to get someone to draw a string for you.

I had MoH draw this string:

MoH's String

and then I worked my magic, and this is the result:

Ta-Da!
Tangles: Nzeppel, Fescu, Crescent Moon,
Meer, Scallops, Paradox

Happy tangling...
