And here's my Zendala:
Black & White
Tangles: Jonqal; Socc; Hi-Cs; Gloven; Tripoli; Fescu

With added Blue

I had fun with this one, and put my 005 Micron to good use with the Gloven.
Can't wait for the next one!

Socc

The first challenge each month is from the 'Use My Tangle' (UMT) series. This week Laura challenged us to use Erin Olson's tangle, Socc.

Socc is a great tangle and Erin's story of how it came into being can be found in her Ah-ha moment post over on her blog, The Bright Owl.

I've been super busy at work this week, and also had a few other tiles to finish, so find myself sat on a Saturday afternoon finally posting my response to this challenge.

Finally I decided that the tile needed a little colour. I was inspired by Erin's step-out for the tangle - I loved the teal colour she used (my all-time favourite colour!) in the background. For this tile I chose a Cyclamen coloured watercolour pencil.

As I mentioned earlier, I have been busy working a few other challenges. Here's a few that I've posted recently:
Dex & Verdigogh; A Little Help from my Friends
Initialise; Trip to Tripoli

In July 2011, Laura handed over the reins to Carol Bailey Floyd to set the challenge for the week, and the challenge she set was to create a Zentangle fairy home.

So here's my Fairyland:

This was a big challenge for me, as I usually prefer the more geometric patterns!

Zendala Dare 30 - PIE

The Zendala Dare this week comes with a theme of Thanksgiving, as well as a template.

Erin challenged us to create a PIE Zendala. Complete the zendala using only tangles beginning with P, I and E. And if that weren't enough, use at least one tangle you've never used before!!!

So here's the template:
Zendala Dare 30

I'm not one to shy away from a challenge, so I decided to use not just one tangle that is new to me, but all the tangles would be new to me.

And here's my PIE!

A big 'Thank You' goes out to Linda Farmer of TanglePatterns. It's a resource that I find invaluable, as I'm sure do many of you. When I manage to sort out the issues with my cards and PayPal, I'll definitely by sending my donation. You can support TanglePatterns too by clicking here, and Linda will send you her Tangle Guide ebook.

All this talk of pie is making me hungry!

Zentangle is for Everyone!

For this challenge, Laura invited another guest to set the theme. This challenge was set by Carole Ohl, who asked everyone to use the same four tangles in their tile - Pais, Zedbra, Keenees and Baton.

Carole also asked people to send their tiles to her so they could feature in a display at a local restaurant, to bring awareness to people that Zentangle really is for everyone!

So here's the tile I created:
